Reflexology for Headaches and Migraines
Headaches are a very common ailment, often treated by reaching for a couple of paracetamol.  Frequently triggered by stress, headaches are caused by the tension or spasm of muscles in the head and neck but can also be environmental in cause, such as sinus and allergy related headaches. Migraines are more severe and can have a variety of triggers, both environmental and stress related. Both headaches and migraines can be effectively managed with hand and foot Reflexology.
By targeting the corresponding reflexes in the feet for the spine, head and brain, foot reflexology is particularly useful for relieving tension headaches, migraine, cluster and sinus headaches. By targeting points of tenderness on the upper part and underside of the big toe that correspond with the head, neck and brain and applying pressure, tension that could be causing headaches is released.
Hand reflexology can also be effective for easing the severity and duration of headaches. By targeting the first joints of each finger and the fleshy part of the hand between thumb and forefinger, tightened neck and shoulder muscles are relaxed and sinus and allergy headaches relieved.
